The Audio-Technica AT33XMLD AT33x Series dual moving coil stereo cartridge pairs a nude Microlinear stylus with a tapered duralumin cantilever for precise groove tracking and detailed 20 to 42,000 Hz response. Independent PCOCC left- and right-channel coils provide 27 dB separation, while a neodymium magnet and permendur yoke support responsive 0.4 mV output. A die-cast zinc, aluminum and high-rigidity polymer body disperses resonance, and M2.6 threaded holes make two-screw mounting easier, especially on an integrated tonearm.
Its warm, full-bodied balance gives instruments and voices lifelike mid-to-low-frequency expression, making this turntable cartridge especially well suited to rock and jazz records from the 1950s, '60s and '70s.

Its high-hardness duralumin tapered pipe cantilever improves control at higher frequencies, while the firm connection between the cantilever, stylus and suspension supports stable, nuanced reproduction.
27 dB Channel Separation and PCOCC Coils
Separate moving coils for the left and right channels keep stereo information distinct, delivering 27 dB channel separation at 1 kHz. Positioned at the cantilever's fulcrum, the PCOCC coils create a pure, smooth path for each channel's signal.
Efficient Magnetic System
A neodymium magnet works with a permendur yoke to create a strong magnetic field and maximize power-generation efficiency. The result is responsive, high-resolution playback from the cartridge's 0.4 mV output.
Resonance-Controlled Composite Body
Die-cast zinc, aluminum and high-rigidity polymer are arranged throughout the cartridge body to reduce and distribute resonance instead of allowing one frequency range to dominate. Dense zinc at the base further suppresses unwanted vibration, reinforcing balanced sound and greater expressiveness through the mid-to-low range.
Suspension Designed for Tonearm Versatility
A newly developed mechanism uses piano wire with a redesigned rubber damper to improve tracking accuracy. Its slightly lower dynamic compliance gives the sound greater substance and allows the cartridge to work with a variety of tonearms.
Easy Two-Screw Threaded Mounting
M2.6 threaded holes let the AT33XMLD attach with only two screws during a turntable setup. This arrangement is especially convenient when the headshell is integrated into the tonearm.
Gold-Plated Terminals and Japanese Craftsmanship
Thick gold plating on the terminal pins reduces contact resistance at the cartridge connection. Each AT33XMLD is crafted and hand-finished by artisans in Japan.
